Shortly after I was done with Joyce Carol Oates, I picked up the book next in line; this time, it's hardbound.
It's weird that I get to push myself easily on buying hardbound books other than those written by popular authors (or those whom I happen to know the bestsellers...hmmm.)
Pagwasak pa rin sa tradisyon... I love this!
Half-indian boy from a "poor-ass family" went to attend an all-white private school.
The typical "bullied-who-fought-and-won-in-the-end" kind of story.
Picture this: he's skinny, big-footed, "born with water on the brain" (=hydrocephalus), and is wearing thick eyeglasses. Not surprisingly he's a regular target of the bullies in and out of the reservation.
BUT he's intelligent. And he looooves to draw.
