The More I Read, The More I Pity Those Who Do Not

Perhaps blogging missed me. It's been a while.

I shouldn't be actually doing this but the news really shocked me I can't help but bring it out in public.

I learned from Stefan that a favorite author we shared passed away this Wednesday. To quote him:

"He always struck me as a sarcastic bastard of the grandest kind".

Though I only read one of his books, Slapstick or Lonesome No More, I couldn't agree less. I really liked the narrative, especially the style. It was in fact a memorable one since it's the very first time that I appreciated a sci-fi.

Since then, it has been part of my plan to collect his books. And I guess, it would really have to be.

So long, Kurt Vonnegut! It's nice to know that a great person like you existed. Click here for the full story on CNN.com

UPDATE: started with The Crazed (Ha Jin), barely halfway through Flush (Carl Hiassen), halfway through From Beginning To End (Robert Fulghum), almost through with Tales of Beauty and Cruelty (Kate Petty & Caroline Castle), through with The Foretelling (Alice Hoffman)...

TARGET: Incantation (Alice Hoffman), Maximum Ride: School's Out Forever (James Patterson)
