I'm Baa-baa-baa-ck

The Significant Parts of My One-Week Travel Abroad

I flew to San Francisco, passed by the Golden Gate Bridge, saw the Quentin island from atop, counted 42 street lights along the Golden Gate Bridge on the way back, shivered from the freezing breeze of the bay area, amazed by the distorted-and-bigger-than-usually-witnessed full moon, driven loco by the long days of Northern hemisphere, ate dinner in Lucky Chance Casino, stayed in a cheap hotel, rode a cab coolly with relatives, waited patiently for an hour or so at McDonalds practically doing nothing, ate nuggets (!), passed by the narrowest and "curve-iest" road in the world, went inside the City Library, saw the incredibly huge docked naval ships, smiled at the sight of doves circling the city, rode a train, passed by a lot of stinking (!) homeless people somewhere in downtown (near the big shops... yes, what an irony indeed.), crossed the Washington state, scared a parent sitting next to me with my reading of a book (Hannibal Rising) on plane, wore a skirt, watched the fireworks display in the harbor at the 4th of July, was constantly falling asleep in the passenger seat, strolled a little around the University of Washington, caught a glimpse of the bald eagle, heard some crows crowed (!), finished a book (Hannibal Rising) in a Veterans Hospital, chopsticked the peanuts on a dish, read a fortune cookie, watched Transformers in the moviehouse alone, went in circles looking for a street in the 3rd avenue (Union St.), was offered casually with weed for $2 while waiting for the bus, started with a book inside the car, continued the same book in the airport, finished the same book on the plane (Maximum Ride #2), read another book on the same flight (Maximum Ride #3), and finally went home.

In a nutshell: Do not bring more than what you can carry (while staring at the long line of people in the baggage check-in counter of PAL).

"The wonder of Balikbayan boxes..."

I sighed looking at my back pack and a smaller carry-on bag.
