My First TV Show Review

Rarely do I have the chance to watch television shows. I do not have one in my apartment. Gladly.

When I went back to our old apartment to visit my sister a week ago, I was able to watch some, including Pinoy Big Brother (and the pathetic ad campaign of one of the politicians…although I found them all pathetic).

Now this particular show is claimed by many to be a phenomenal one. That is why, it’s been three days since I’ve started cracking my brain just so I could agree with conviction. But I don’t think I can.

I find the show perverted and I think the Big Brother is a dirty old man (that is why he’s concealing himself) and the housemates, exhibitionists. The whole show is nothing but pure voyeurism. The horrible part is that it promotes incest. You see, they’re supposed to be a picture of one big happy family but no, it doesn’t because the DOM prefers that even before the housemates leave the house they’ve already picked their partners. Now, it turns out that the DOM is also a pimp. He sells through the media the whores, males and females, alike. These whores, as should be expected, enjoy bitching on air. Who wouldn’t? With a one million peso and house and lot waiting for the grand bitch survivor, and several business opportunities offered to the rest, especially in TV/movie industry... what could you ask for more? For one hundred or so days, be the bitchiest bitch as you could be and I guarantee the whole nation’s not going to vote you out.

I feel morally degraded with this kind of show that displays a nation sucker for money (or “fame and fortune”). Even though I am more of a pessimist, I still couldn’t agree that all Filipinos concern themselves with money matters alone. Surely, life isn’t just about earning money.

The generation today is hopeless of change. We have all gone astray.

It’s high time that the world is reconstructed. The world needs a brand new uncorrupted human race.

All I could wish for now is a catastrophe that will wipe us all away. Pave way to a more worthy lineage of descendants.

How’s that for a mission?
